This is our little venture to see if we can live on just 25% of the national average for car miles. If we can keep it to just 4,000 miles, we will buy both of our daughters ponies*.
We are:
Angie: A recovering pessimist and working mother.
Jesse: A happy-go-lucky teacher and father of
Sofie: Five-year-old contemporary dancer who reads and sings a lot.
Vivi: Two-year-old who is extra small, extra blonde, and bites Roxy.
Roxy: an obnoxious pug.
*ponies may be in the form of bikes for parents–other ideas welcome.
Very special thanks to Keri Caffrey, Inc. for the design of this website!
Just discovered your blog and am absolutely hooked!! I am proud to be one of those people that works hard to inspire others to ride their bikes but after reading just a few of your blog posts YOU’RE INSPIRING ME! Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much!! Congrats on your many miles of riding – what an accomplishment!
Now if I were to become a parent, would I get one of those *ponies*?
Very nice site. I have just added links to your site from my car-free and utility riding sections, and I would appreciate it if you could add one to mine in return. My site is dedicated to getting people out of their cars and onto their bikes. It targets non-bikers, newbies and intermediate bikers with lots of “how-to” and “where-to-find.” We want to help newbies understand the issues and make good decisions and help intermediates get to a higher level. Please visit and consider a return link. Thanks, and keep up the good work!

I too am an Xtracyclist and less-driving-enthusiast. I am also a professional riding instructor with ponies and horses, so I am hoping that when you accomplish your goal that you will, indeed, buy your daughters ponies!
