When you are a one-car family, and your one car happens to be a sedan, babysitting can present an interesting challenge. We have those massive Britax carseats that quite literally can fit an adult and they don’t play well when you try to squeeze in another two carseats into the backseat. We recently had two of our favorite little friends over for our very first slumber party and keeping a gaggle of girls inside for the entirety of the visit was not an option. That’s seriously a lot of screaming and tile gives our house show-quality acoustics. Luckily for us, we have the Madsen Minivan! It was as simple as the girls packing their bike helmets, which every parent knows is far easier than trying to install a new carseat. The girls had a blast and a gaggle of girls is actually quite enjoyable when they are giggling down the street in a bucket.
We’ve really had quite a bit of biking fun over the last couple of weeks. In addition to our slumber party on wheels, we met up with some other awesome bikey families at a birthday party this past weekend. We had a lovely ride over to the park and were completely stoked to ride up and see this awesome contraption:
In the land of urban sprawl, minivans are king (or is it queen?) and this was such a welcome surprise. Vivi completely loved her front-row seat.
My only complaint is that no one took me for a ride.

And you thought family biking was gonna be difficult! Instead it turned out to be so much FUN!
Don’t worry Angie! We’ll be getting the quadracycle out again soon and we’ll be sure to take you for a ride. Its a blast dspite its slowness.
I missed that you got a madsen! sounds like a lot of fun. It’s always more fun to bike. When I pick up my daughter and her friend from an after school class her friend always asks ” Did you bike?!” and is happy when I say yes.
