Is the fact that I bought a live tree at all negated by the fact that I carried it home by bike?

The First Annual Christmas Tree Run
That right there is a 7 1/2 foot Christmas tree on a bike. Yep. I’d like to mention that I smoked past my hubby going over the bridge while hauling this very tree. In hot pink ballet flats, no less. That’s just how I roll. Oh, and don’t mind me–I don’t get many chances to gloat so I have to go all out.

Oh, that little thing? I barely even noticed...
You can check out a few more pics here–though I must warn you that my camera simply would not behave last night.
Love it!
And
Nice saddle
i think that the chemicals they use to make fake trees and the fact that they take a bajillion years to break down makes it ok that you bought a live tree. and that you brought it home on a bike of course.
SOOOO love Christmas trees on cargo bike shots! You must send this to Xtracycle.
We like to cut down our trees as part of the tradition (we lived in Maine for four years so that was pretty easy). We have farms near us but not here in the city and I am not sure if those farms are truly accessible by bike. We will have to decide what matters more: haul tree by bike (buy at a lot already cut) or cut down ourselves but go by car. Hmmmm.
Hey– did you put a Brooks saddle on your Radish. We did (a honey-colored one) & we lurve it.
Oh how cool!
But can you do that on a track bike?
Perhaps a challenge for next year!
Ha!! I love it! Pretty soon we’ll be bringing home the tree on a unicycle!
@Sara – seriously, you have to cut your own tree. I am so insanely jealous – how very cool that you have that option! Firs on bikes are great, but that is so Norman Rockwell!
And yes – that is the new Brooks saddle! Keri’s been telling me how awesome they are and I finally broke down and bought one. It’s…interesting.
Actually, it’s not as uncomfortable as I would have thought even though it’s not broken in yet. I can’t wait until it starts to get broken in!
Hang in with the new Brooks saddle. Really. I was so happy to make the switch on the Radish since I found our Bakfiets’s one so comfortable. I think it makes a world of difference than the one it came with…
You’re awesome!!
This is freaking amazing!
It was really nice to meet you with Wendy today on Park Ave. I am gonna go check out the xtracycle website now
Be sure to go check out my blog and let me know what you think. I will get a post about you guys brewin’ this week

You can cut your own sand pine at the Lionia Preserve in Deltona, and it helps the scrub jays. Too many sand pines in an area attract hawks, which eat the jays, so every year they let folks come in a clear out some of the extras. They aren’t exactly perfect little evergreens, but some times you’ve got to embrace your own environment.
